Experience Africa during USA vs. Ghana game

Fans attending the international friendly soccer game between the United States Men’s National Team and the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday, October 17 at the GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee, will have an opportunity to experience Africa in a unique way.

A first-generation Ghanaian American, Dr. Isaac Addae, has put up an event to celebrate this historic occasion by “leading the curation of a series of events aimed at uniting African Diasporans and African Americans in Nashville.”

According to Dr. Addae, the ‘Experience Africa’ event series will include opportunities for the community to convene in social settings that elevate the diversity of Blacks and African cultures within Middle Tennessee.

“The Ghana-USA match serves as an important marker in the history of Black and African relations. In the US media and entertainment sectors, African culture has been elevated in unprecedented ways”, Dr. Addae stated.

He said Ghana has been a top travel destination for African Americans seeking connectivity with their ancestral roots, hence, the need to strengthen bonds between African Diasporans and African Americans.

He is convinced that the ‘Experience Africa’ event series will accomplish this goal through culturally relevant programming centered around the historic soccer event.

Dr. Isaac Yao Addae is a business professor, entrepreneur, strategist, speaker, and author of Black Boy Fly. He also leads minority business engagements for the Nashville Mayor’s office, among other businesses.
