FIFA Rankings: Nine African teams in Top 50 as Morocco still leads the pack

At least nine African countries have made it to the Top 50 of FIFA rankings with Morocco still holding on to their position as Africa’s best team.

FIFA’s released rankings for the month of September saw some interesting moves for African teams as Guinea Bissau got special mention as one of the improved national teams in the world after moving up six places.

Africa’s best team, Morocco, moved two places up to 13th position in the world, but reigning African champions Senegal dropped two places from the 18th position, albeit they still remain amongst the top 20 in the world.

Tunisia is now amongst the top 30 in the world after moving up to 29th in the world, while Mali and Cote d’Ivoire both moved two places up to 49th and 50th respectively to break into the top 50 ranked sides globally.
