This is the beginning of more successes and trophies – FC Cincinnati coach

Coach of FC Cincinnati, Pat Noonan, says his team’s Supporters’ Shield winning feat is just the beginning of more successes for the club.

With three games to end the Major League Soccer (MLS) regular season, Cincinnati secured the Supporters’ Shield after defeating Toronto FC 3-2 at the BMO Stadium thereby sounding an alert to the rest of the teams who have qualified for the Post Season.

“I just think over the past two years we’ve become so strong as a group that this is a possibility. So hopefully it’s the beginning of more success and more trophies for this club”, coach Noonan warned.

Midfielder Luciano Acosta who has 15 goals and 12 assists to his credit is hoping to win the regular season Player of the Year award. He said he and his teammates have achieved what they set out to achieve this season.

“I am just totally happy with how this entire season has gone and to achieve what we’ve achieved. When I came here, it was clear this was a club that was just beginning so now I am so happy to achieve what we set out to achieve when I came and knew what the project would be. So, I’m just incredibly happy.”

FC Cincinnati is the first team to win the No.1 seed with three matches to spare. They also led the Supporters’ Shield race since May and never lost their position on the summit of both the Eastern Conference and Supporters’ Shield table.
